Who writes this site
Solunareclipse publishes the times of the three eclipses visible from the Iberian Peninsula — 12 August 2026, 2 August 2027 and the annular eclipse of 26 January 2028 — along with a calculator that gives them for any point on Earth.
The author
The site is written and developed by Emmanuel Magon. The calculator is not a wrapper around someone else's service: the computation engine was written for this site, from the Besselian elements published by NASA/GSFC, and cross-checked against the INPOP19A ephemerides of the IMCCE (Paris Observatory).
How the figures are checked
In August 2026, a missing term in the hour angle — the Earth's rotation during ΔT — was shifting the whole computation 0.30° west, some thirty kilometres. It was found by recomputing the central line from the Besselian elements and comparing it with the points published by NASA, then corrected; every table on the site was regenerated straight after.
That is what a verifiable computation makes possible, and it is why the method and the sources are written out on every calculator page rather than summed up in a single line.
How the site makes money
Solunareclipse does not sell glasses. The purchase links point to Absolute Eclipse, a reseller of ISO 12312-2 certified glasses, and a commission is paid if you buy — at no change to the price.
The calculator pages and the FAQ carry no commercial link, and that is deliberate: those are the pages we offer for citation, and they must stay that way.
Reusing the calculator
The calculator can be embedded freely on another site — astronomy club, planetarium, tourist office, observation page. The code is ready to copy; the only condition is that you keep the attribution link.
